In my vision, I saw you arrive and then those same waters, the mirrors of time and space showed me your return to Terra Planum. Your kin will know you are trying to get back to them. I’m here with you living a life of dreams, while my family are home thinking I’m lost to them.’ ‘And when I did, I was brought here to this world. You found the armour forged in our fire.’ “Those waters showed me a vision of you digging in a green. All because of your vision.’ Dexter said, rolling onto his back. ‘I know, I know, and that’s why Boomarshka didn’t fry me on the spot the night he found me. But yes, my father took me to the Mirror Sanctum, and there, in a vision in its water, I saw you.’ ‘You are the only one allowed to call him that, Master Dexter. ‘King Boomer!’ Dexter enthusiastically threw his arms up. “You must believe me.’ Crackle said, rising and swishing his tail, the air rushing around them. ‘You will return home one day, Master Dexter I have seen it.’ The dragon lifted his head, Dexter’s saddened reflection looked back at him in the dark opal eye of his faithful companion, Crackle. ‘I remember when we met, Master Dexter.’ Lost in thought, Dexter rubbed his hand softly along the dragon’s ear. They theorized it was to do with being away from the laws of time in his own world, a place that seemed many moons and planes away.Ī wispy growl rolled from the dragon beneath the boy. The monks had noted how, in all this time, he had stayed young as if frozen in time. Dexter was just seven years old when he arrived. It was these two dragons who protected him, took him to the monks and showed him it wasn’t all bad here. But his presence was soon sensed by Dar- nacusk and his young nephew, Boomarshka, who Dexter befriend- ed and affectionately referred to as ‘King Boomer’. At first, the terror of being transported seemed cruel and unthinking of whatever forces had brought him here. It had been an age since he was torn from his world and arrived here – a foreign land ruled by dragons and drakes. Just like every other fourth black moon when he visited this place, Dexter decided it didn't matter. He was never sure if these were genuine smells drifting through the portal from his home realm, or if his lonely mind was playing tricks on him. The boy who went by the name of Dexter breathed in the familiar smells of his old life. The wind ruffled through the fur of the large creature he clung to the back of. The young boy eagerly watched the corrupted realm portal as glints of Chroma sparked from it every now and then.
